Prerequisite: beginner cookie decorating (or the ability to outline and flood. There will be no instruction on outlining and flooding).

This is our most comprehensive airbrush class yet! Every cookie and a number of the embellishments will be airbrushed. We will also spend 1.5-2 hours working on airbrush competency. In airbrush competency, we will disassemble/reassemble our airbrush not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR TIMES. We will learn how to clear out a clog rapidly. We will talk about needle sizes and how to tell different needles apart and SO much more! A dual action airbrush will be employed in this class and every student will be provided their own for use in the class . We will discuss the pros and cons of working with alcohol based colors and water based colors, layering airbrush colors in the same color family and layering colors in different color families. We will also discuss the function and use of a preset handle and a MAC valve. You will learn how to shade and highlight your cookies and also how to achieve fine lines with your airbrush. We will talk PSI. What it is it and how does it apply to us? We will also discuss stencil work, underspray, overspray, and hot spots. For the detail work in this class, we will move on to micro piping, fondant and wafer paper accents and use a variety of sprinkles to finish these springtime cookies up. Lunch will be provided. Class is expected to run 8 hrs (plus or minus one hour).
